Picture or EB engine compartment
I have been looking for more than just a couple of hours for pictures of a "stock" 1968 EB 289 engine compartment.
Of course as you all probably can guess that no one leaves these "stock" anymore and either modify the engine or intake or raise the truck etc etc....
I really want to see the air cleaner and all the attachments that go with the v-8s in 1968.
anyone seen or have some ?

There's a good picture here... AutoTraderClassics.com - Article 1966-77 Ford Bronco Collectors Guide
And another here... http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-GTx3edllr9...nco+engine.jpg

I don't think that intake is 100% stock, but I think that is some kind of pre-heater. Here is a completely stock intake from Tom's Bronco... http://www.tomsbroncoparts.com/image...r_Assembly.jpg

Hmm.
302 70's yr models
mine is a 289 few yrs older.
I have an open hole back there. Since I am on LOTS of dirt roads. The air filters are not lasting long. Want to do something to pre filter the air. Maybe ill wrap panty hose around it. Would love to find the actual item though.
thanks for you attention and help

positive crankcase ventilation
Looks a lill like an early PCV to me. The top sketch may B the oil bath style carb filter (I think they had a "draft tube" rather than recirculating/inclosed system for THAT).
To me it's an important part of the system that too many rip off'n toss in their resto-mod efforts. There's more "breathin" than just the gulp'o air the carb takes! Boy, by the time U get to the '70s and '80s they engineered all sorta tubes, pipes, pumps, etc.

Yeah
I had an 84 full size.
nice truck but the smog stuff on it was every where and after 16 yrs. started falling off.
Was able to keep it running good though till I sold it in the late 90's.
Found it in a back yard about 1/2 mile from my house. Not running now.
just sitting out and melting away.
Would never let that happen to my EB. Lives a very good life and it is very happy at 142 k original miles.
