Truck dies on takeoff.

Truck dies on takeoff.
Just when I get it dialed in, now the truck dies when taking off.
It seems to just cut off when taking off from a stop, not always maybe 1 out of 5 stops. It fires up right after but takes a bit of cranking, maybe 4 seconds of it.
of course it always dies right in the middle of the intersection.
Then it takes off like a bat out of hell.
No error codes are coming up.
Thanks for any help
Alan

I had this happen before. Twice in one month the truck died at a stop light while idling. Replaced the ICP sensor because it had oil on top of it. Not sure if this was the cause of the problem - but it didn't happen again. Like you said - a $30 CPS is cheaper than the $140 ICP sensor.

As stated above, the Oil System would be my first inclination.
IF you have some diagnostic tools (AE / Snap-On) I would back up theory up with data before throwing money and time at it.
I would consider a Chip or Tuner as a possible culprit as well. Merely disconnecting or disabling will confirm or deny.
1 of every 5 stops certainly would allow for live data retrieval to eliminate the majority of expensive and time consuming repairs that aren't necessarily required and won't repair your truck.

mine did the same thing after adding the DP F-5 chip.
but i also had a 2 part problem to fix.
first problem was defueling from over boosting. a pressure regulator set at 21 lbs in the map sensor line took care of the defueling.
the second part of the problem was a defective fuel pedal assembly.
a new pedal assembly through a ford recall took care of that problem.

Well done sir.
Not only was the tin nut loose, it was completely off and it is lurking in the oil filled valley.
Thanks for the help.
