Yeah, we both do. but it comes back to that 6'6" issue that I don't plan on changing any time soon.

Think about it this way; If you've ever, as an adult, tried to ride a child's tricycle... That's me in everything but a Humvee, unimog and open horse drawn wagon.

I'm aware that 100hp is a stretch, but give me 20.. 15... heck, I'll settle for 12.5hp.

I'd figure out exactly what you've got on the engine and decide after that. I can believe a messed-up carb could easily cost you 10 HP, an incorrectly set up distributor could cost you about the same. Is your engine in good shape? Have you run compression tests?

A lot is said on here about being rear-ended because of not being able to maintain speed. I worry about it a lot too, but in practice I've found that people are far more polite about an old truck struggling up a hill that they are about a modern car that is going just as slow. For one thing, they can see it's an old truck, and assume it just can't maintain speed. I avoid rush hour traffic if I can, it's a lot less forgiving.

I have noticed this too. They know your'e doing the the best you can. I taking the 56 to Yuma tomorrow and have to do a lot of freeway driving, will cruise along in the right lane at about 70. Most folks slow down to take a look, wave and are on their way.
