Question Keyless entry keypad

I'm not happy with the factory-set code for the keyless entry keypad for my '03 Sport Trac. It seems like it would be really simple for someone to guess.

I have figured out how to set a personal code, but the factory code will always work. That's according to the manual, anyway.

My local dealers tell me that the only way to change the factory code is to change a module. That sounds expensive.

Does anyone know of a way to change the code or just disable the keypad without disabling the keychain remotes?

Keyless entry keypad

You should be able to cut one wire to the keypad to disable it, but I really have no idea. Get a Ford/Helm service CD off eBay and look it up.
