1999 Ford F150- Has anyone had problems with spark plug launching in these Ford Models, particularly spark plug number 4? Could cross threading cause ejectment/ Any resources Ford publication would be helpful. When does Ford recommend that spark plugs be changed.

Finally, will spark plug launching cause damage to teh other parts of the engine?

 

Check the 5.4 forum. I have seen a few post on this problem.

I think that your question will be better answered in the proper forum.

 

I haven't had problems with plug launching yet, but #4 had it's coil replaced due to a coolant leak.
