Can't Find Correct EGR Number

Hello all,

I am trying to replace the EGR on my 77 F100 300-6. I have purchased 3 different EGRs and haven't found the correct one yet. The original EGR doesn't have any numbers on it, so I have nothing to compare the replacements against. I can say that the EGR currently on the truck has a box type base and a wider bolt pattern than the EGRs I have gotten from the parts stores.

Anyone else run into this issue? I would block it of, but the carb runs too lean when I do this. I don't want to run the risk of burning my valves out.

Any help's appreciated.

try searching on rockauto.com it has pictures with most parts, you can visually identify if its the right one.

I'll check into that. I just don't like ordering parts online when I am not sure what specific part I need. I hate having to mail parts back.

don't have to buy from them, just confirm manufacturer and p/n of the part in doubt.

Bill,

Looks like bolt spacing is approx 3.25". Overall length of about 4.5". About .5" wider than the other EGRs that I tried.

Thanks

Standard Motor products #EGV230 should have the correct bolt hole spacing; it's what was on my 86. ~Bill
