Retired as an E6. ADJ-1 Jet Engine Mech. Too many of that rating - that's why I left ASAP...Of course, as soon as I put in my papers they said I made Chief.... to which I replied.... OOPS, I can't say that here!

I spotted the USN Retired, and inquiring minds just had to know! Flat-top Sailor or as my dad (BB62) called them, "Floating Islands"?
I went to a HS class breakfast last Saturday, and learned that a friend from high school had enlisted before me and we had followed the same paths, CTR-2, Communciations Technician Collection! Only after "A" school, he went to DC, and I went to Adak & Japan. I wanted to be a Battleship Sailor, and ended being a "Sand Crab"!
..... Some Sailor, huh?.....

After my "A" school in Millington, TN got sent to Fighter Squadron 32, Cecil Field, Florida. On & off the Saratoga until first enlistment was up, then "B" school, VF101 at Oceania, VA & NAS Bocha Chica in Key West. Then on to Attack aircraft (A6) in Whidbey Island, WA until retirement. Many different carriers involved during the Nam era.
