speaking of gas tanks... how in the heck do you get gas in these trucks??
Am I the only one who has trouble with the gas pumps? I live out here behind enemy lines in the People's Repulik of Kalifornia, so our gas pump nozzles have big rubber boots on them for vapor recovery. I am having one hell of a time getting gas in my truck. Does anyone know of a funnel type of device that Would go down into the filler neck a little way and allow me to slowly fuel the truck without spilling it everywhere?
what filler neck do you have? something doesn't sound right. my 77 drinks fuel from the nozzle and racer dump cans just fine. do you have the filler where the cap mounts directly on the side of the bed and not behind a fuel door?

No door on this one, here is a sideways photo:
I am mainly using the front tank, which I assume is the AUX tank.
I've watched my Son fill it numerous times and always meant to come back on here and ask if there was a better way. He usually holds the nozzle upside down and tries to push hard enough to seal the gasket onto the spout.
Others on here with the somewhat same problem have said to try a different angle of nozzle attack - more sideways, upside down, etc.
Can you skin that flap back and hold it back while filling?
It's almost as if the large hose going from the bed to the tank is running uphill a short ways, so you have to get the gas to go past this uphill part to get it down into the tank.
If I had a set of ramps and pulled the truck up on them before filling, I'd probably be ok!!

I donʻt have an answer for you, but I will say.........NICE LOOKING TRUCK!
Put and eyeball up under there and see if you large filler line or vent line is collapsed? Then yes do the upside handle thing, crazy but I hear it works.
What part of Hawaii are you in? I was there in Kailua-Kona last year for a freediving class, and then went over to Pearl Harbor to visit my wife's youngest Son who is a Nuke Tech on a Submarine.

Good idea, I'll check it out. I think we looked at it when we were doing all the repairs on it, but I will double check.

I live in Wahiawa, central O'ahu.
The Big Island is the best island to visit and live on by all means.
My wife and I have good jobs here, and I hope to move to
Hawai'i island someday.
Did you guys visit the Arizona Memorial while here?

Yes, we got to tour the memorial, it was my first time there.
We stayed at the Hale Koa in Honolulu, since here Son was able to get us in there... what a beautiful place. I also went diving off of Bellows Field Beach, and we took a day trip to North Shore to see the waves up near, uh, I think it was Haleiwa?
I can't wait to go back and experience more of life there.
