83 F-100 BAYOU-PROJECT
Im new to the forum and well let me tell you about my truck. Its a 83 F100 inline 6 that needs to get replaced. Texas truck that belonged to my uncle then grandpa who recently passed away in december and luckily I'm the car enthusiast in the family so i ended up with it. I plan on redoing it and dropping a different motor in it when its nearing completion just gotta find one first. The body is in great shape and wanna paint it the same colors. Plan to keep it stock. This is going to be a budget build and all the work will be done by me start to finish. Im not working rite now so this is what ill be working on to keep me busy, will update daily and let me know what y'all think.
Hope the picture size is ok

started to sand with 80grit but figure take it easy on the compressor and get some paint striper.

didn't get to much done today had to clear my storage room so only worked like 2 hrs but to a few picture also show y'all what i been using on the truck
my tools DA, 3m roloc wheel for tight spots, n screwdriver to get out the seam sealer
this is the epoxy ill be using its called direct to rust a lot of restorations shop will use this to fill in the pits n even can fill in the deep scratches from a grinder. Best part it makes 2 gallons sprayable so you'll have enough to do a truck and then some, only cost a $100 bucks too

Made some progress past few days got some epoxy on the bed and started sanding it out minor filler work on the passenger side but the beds pretty straight. I got some final sanding to finish up then will primer it up with some slicksand. Also had my buddy come over and give me a hand with the hood and started striping it, hoods got a skim coat of filler on the whole thing.

Big update been awhile and recently broke my toe so my days n sleep patterns off but wanted to bring everything up to day
has anyone ever seen this I think its a kill switch
few beer later n a lost temper will get ya
1st primer will get re-primed
Got the motor pulled figured out the knocking noise the piston rod was rattling in the crankshaft
getting rid of those ugly farmer mirrors
showing off my badass welding skill don't think it will need filler with the type of primer I'm using
bye bye antenna
minor rust could of just welded it but i wanted to cut it out, sandblast, epoxy, and weld em back on just to be safe
decided to change the colors to 2013 colors the silver is right, the blue will be a shade lighter
and bonus pic my nephew came in town n showed him how to make a flame throw wit the mini jet

Pull a part out there by you usually has some decent trucks to get parts from. The one in Baton rouge is pretty much picked over. I go to the one on the westbank in Harvey.
How is your seat? I have a really nice split bench sitting in my 83 in the pasture at my parents place. It is from a 95 bodystyle truck. It is grey.
