Talk About Cool!
I haven't been making family vids of Stinky lately... he was being a brat again. I found the issue and Stinky's behaving, with just the littlest bit of post-whack sobbing.
I had to swap a knocking injector - but don't assume the injector went bad on it's own. I'm exploring something that the truck (or I) might have done to the injector. My 9th injector is now in the hole, and it needs to be "broke in"... so it makes just a little more noise than the others until that time.
Anyway, this is vid a bump from 50 MPH to 70 MPH:

Here is a photo of the driver-side probe (behind the orange connector in foreground).

Rich a little off topic but as one of our resident experts I thought I'd ask. My Ex is 100% stock are EGT's something I need to worry about, I tow a 7000lb travel trailer. I had money budgeted for an infinity but I spent my money on a hensley hitch. I could probably get the wife to approve an EGT gauge at this point but definitely not the infinity I was planning on getting.
Thanks

Chiming in on this - I towed my 13.5k lb 5th wheel all over the southeast, including the mountains of NC and TN, in stock form and couldn't ever make my EGT's go over about 1200. As long as your truck is healthy, you should be fine. That being said, I still reccomend getting some gauges, because they can be a good indication of a problem, i.e. transmission overheating, leaky uppipes, boost leaks.

Thanks Bob, I'm using torque so I'm able to monitor boost and transmission temp. I still plan on getting the infinity it's just been pushed back some I HOPE to have it before my trip out west this summer.

Yeah, this still makes me shake my head.....he talks about popping the VC off and doing this or that like me changing my oil......sadly he would have my injectors off in the time I drain the pan........

This trip into the VC was the silver bullet. I found something small, yet profound. I'm trying to do a write-up on it (complete with photos), but I'm being interrupted with my regularly-scheduled disasters at work and home.
Early release: It wasn't Full Force Diesel's fault. As is the case in many scenarios, it was a diesel enthusiast missing a detail and causing great grief for himself.
