Hi Technomon

Just wanted to point out that there's no way to tell if you have good oil pressure or not. The "gauge" is a glorified idiot light driven by a switch that closes at 5 PSI. So if you have 5 PSI the gauge will show completely normal.

Sounds to me like you need to take it into your dealer to see what they say. Any way you could post a video of the noise for us?

Tom ... Just wanted to point out that there's no way to tell if you have good oil pressure or not. ...
A mechical oil pressure guage could be inserted at the oil pressure sensor - e.g. T'ed inline or as a sensor replacement *Common diagnostic practice for checking the oil pressure.

Nit-picking ... There is no such thing as a ..."2013 5.0".
  • 5.0L is an engine assembly choice/option.
  • 5.0L is not a model trim selection.

Is there anyway to make the gauge functional like the 87-96 trucks where a 80-86 pressure sensor and a removed resistor will make the gauge functional?

5.0's tick, it just is what it is. I had a 2011, 5.0 F-150 and had an audible tick from 20 miles to 32k when I traded it for my "2013 EcoBoost"

There are varying levels of what some owners believe is normal for 5.0's. I recommend doing some YouTube research, and even checking some of the Mustang forums for advise as well.
