Heater Core/AC Evap replacement and updating

So has anyone ever used a Heater Core/AC Evap from a newer vehicle to add Air Conditioning to their truck.

I still am not sure which engine I am going to put into my truck during the rebuild. It will be either the 351W that was in it when I bought it, or a 4.6L DOHC Mark VIII engine. If I go with the Mark VIII I already have most of the parts and if I go with the 351W finding the compressor and brackets will be easy and cheap enough.

I can probably get a Heater Core/Evap/blower motor and other associated parts out of an Escape or an Escort and they should be small enough to easily fit under the F100 dash.

I know I can buy a kit from Vintage Aire or one of the other aftermarket companies, but I was just wondering if any one has used parts from another vehicle. If so what vehicle were the donor parts from? Or am I thinking just way too far out of the box on this one?

Thanks

matt

I am using the assembly from a 2012-13 F150
This will give me a plug and play and make the heater hoses quick release.
