6.0 with studs puking coolant
Hey guys. I have ARP studs and an egr delete. I put them in about 3 yearsaago and I haven't had any problems until now. I usually run my street tune on my SCT and don't have any problems but I bumped it up to my race tune today and coolant is blowing out faster than I can put it in. I switched back to street and no puking no matter how much I beat on it. Any help please?

Did you have them checked for cracks??? I would just throw a gauge on the degas return line and check pressure. Easy and fastest way to see whats going on. I cant see oem gaskets failing with arp studs if installed and checked correctly.

Some folks are just lucky--LOL. I only blew mine once with OEM and studs but that was with 175 injectors and a big tune running down a tuned 6.4.

the gaskets werent blown when i put the studs in so i just switched out the bolts for studs one by one. it was my xtreme x tune from idp if that matters. i just dont understand how it can be good for 3 years running the big tune and all the sudden have a bad headgasket when i switch to my small one for a while

You could try but personally I dont think it will help much if the gaskets blew through. The sealant is already shot if it is puking on the race tune. I still would put a gauge on the coolant line and measure it with the stock tune. If it measures ok then I would check water pump and thermostat. What are your temps?

In addition to checking your water pump, thermostat, what is age of coolant and % coolant gold or ELC. You are going to see higher temps, so you need 45 - 50 % coolant! good cap! and everything working properly. I think a good idea to measure the pressure because you will split a rad or something else if you are pumping exhaust throught the HG at some point. Best of luck to you!
