Sold the T950

Sold the T950
After much pondering I sold the T950 that I recently purchased as I really did not want a project. I would have liked to find another C series, but they are getting hard to find in any kind of shape and not a project, so I did go over to the dark side and bought a 72 International Fleetstar 2050 with a 6V-53 and as normal, a Allison automatic.
Interesting to drive, I have not driven a Detroit diesel for over 25 years, and then only the larger 71 and 92 series. This little 53 likes to rev... didn't forget the hearing protection though, still remembered that!
Guess I will also have to find a IH forum for the Fleetstar that is as good as FTE, if that is possible!

David,
You are a stronger man than me. I can't seem to part with anything but a few parts! Good luck with the 2050 with the 6V in it.Sounds like a beauty. I am looking at a 2000D myself, with a 6V-71 in it. It is the first 2000 I've seen with virtually no doghouse in it! I really don't need another truck, but it is really kind of interesting with that 6V-71 in it. Most of them were built with either an 855 Cummins or a 6-71 Detriot in them. Al

Yes, it was a tough decision as I paid a lot for the T950 and lost thousands. Oh well, that is what trust gets one.
You would think at my age I would know better, but I refuse to assume all people are bad people
Good luck with your pending purchase of your IH. I would have much preferred the 6V-71 over the 53 series, of course that would have dictated a HT series Allison rather than the MT series, which probably would have been even a harder combination to find.
I still hope to find the right C8000 one day. Getting harder by the day though as they age and are scrapped.
