My son and I mounted the cab tonight (with close adult supervision provided by Ken and Eno of KnK Kustoms)! Bringing her home Monday! This is gettin serious!! Tyler
That looks great and that blue is amazing! Care to share the color?
Hey Marauder, yeah the color is the standard current year F-150 (and several other Ford vehicles) dark blue. They call it dark blue pearl metallic. The code is DX.
That said, to me it looks darker and shinier than what I see on the road out there or even on a new car lot. The guys who did the painting said that it looks different because modern trucks have flatter panels, fenders etc. The F-1 is a curvier truck (and what guy doesn't like curves, right?!) so the light reflects differently off it than off a modern truck. The other thing I thought about was that maybe they used a different primer than what they use on the Ford line in Detroit.

Hey Tyler,
Oooooohhh that looks nice. I see a problem though - Your son doesn't drive stick.... I guess that nice truck will have to stay at your house when he goes off to college...

It's not a problem. They spent his college fund on paint.
