Pcv valve. New valve covers

Hey guys. I am finishing up my 5.0 to 5.8 swap and got the upper intake installed. Noticed an issue though. There are 2 lines going into the upper intake on top right side. One is that mess of vac lines for the brake booster, heater, fuel rail. The other is that single line for the pcv valve. One issue i have is that the new valve covers i got dont have a vent, its a plug. Isnt that where the old pcv valve line ran to? Do i need to get a new valve cover cap? Thanks

Hopefully someone will be able answere your question. The reason for my post was to ask if you would share some details of your swap. I'm in need of a new motor and trying to decide if I want to stay with a 5.0 or swap in a 5.8. Did you swap in a donor/take out motor, or did you get a reman long block and had to source out parts that were 5.8-specific?

Is it a removable plug? If so you might be able to replace it with the rubber grommet and OE PCV valve. Post a pic if you can.

Ed Bamba- Create a new thread, you'll get an answer quicker. Hijacking someone elses thread isn't the way to go about it.

Call it what you want. I was just asking the OP if he was willing to share some details of his swap. BTW, You just hijacked his thread just to admonish me to create a new thread in hopes of getting a quicker response to an often asked question. Perhaps a PM to the OP would have been more appropriate. You could have PM me with your unsolicited suggestion.
OP, sorry for the hijack.

Laugh my ars off yall are funny. Ill be doing a full review of the swap after i am done. As for right now i am still not even sure it was successful.

On a side note, i have a breather on the right side of the motor that goes into the intake after the mass air meter but befor the throttle body. Is this vent on one side not enough to relieve crank case pressure or do i need it on the left side as well. Aka pcv valve side.

Both sides need to be routed to the correct locations. The passenger side valvecover should house the PCV valve, with a line connecting the PCV valve to the upper intake manifold. The driverside valvecover should be connected to the air intake tube between the MAF and the throttlebody. Metered air is drawn from the intake tube into the driverside valvecover, through the crankcase, and exits the PCV valve in the passenger side valvecover due to the vacuum present in the upper intake manifold.

So I fixed this. the issue was the new valve covers and intake are super close together. way closer than stock and there was NO room for a pcv as you can see below The PCV valve has a metal silver part and a black plastic neck on top of it. I removed that black plastic to reveal just a 3/8ths male end. I then modified the rubber plug that was originally in the valve cover to fit the PCV valve deap inside it. this then allowed me get the line attached and turned in the space needed under the intake manifold. Royal PAIN in the ars.
