Good day gentleman ! After recently adding a 4" lift , my shop told me that my cross beams of my bed are in pretty bad shape and I'm going to need a new one soon . I've found them around the $1500 mark but my entire truck is vinyl wrapped and re-wrapping another bed it would add to the cost. Has anyone taken out their bed and welded new cross beams . I'm considering that as an alternative or , any other solutions/ideas . Thanks boys !!

Ebay sells cross members too:

Hope these help. I hate rust. I'd recommend POR15 or Chassis Saver the under carriage when you are done. I chassis savered my Ranger myself and had Ziebart do my Super Duty. I was skeptical about Ziebart, but they did a really nice job.

there is a ton of threads on here where guys went to a steel yard bought the correct size square tubing, cut the thin cheap crap off and welded in heaver gauge stuff. Then simply prep, prime, paint and your good to go
