Thinking of doing e-fuel on my 97
#17
That wiring harness looks really nice and really isn't too bad of a price, but I'm always thinking of ways to make things cheaper. So here's some thoughts running through my head. How about using a lead off of the GP relay (small wire coming from ECU) to power another relay that powers the pump. I know the GPs stay on longer than the WTS light, so maybe that would keep the pump on too long. Anybody know how long the GPs stay on? Maybe tap into the WTS light circuit?
Then with the pump pulsed by the GP circuit, all you need is a power source that is on with the engine running, probably just use that same oil pressure switch to power another relay to the fuel pump.
Basically, all you need is 2 relays, some wiring, and maybe an oil pressure switch (don't even need this if there is a circuit that is only powered while the engine is running). Thoughts?

I used this relay 60 amp Automotive Relay with Mounting Tab - WiringProducts
and this socket Pre-Wired Relay Socket - WiringProducts
and a Standard PS64 oil pressure swith.

When I did the EFI swap on my Bronco I used a relay box from an Aerostar van. It has 3 relays and a diode in it, but you can pull the diode and put a fourth relay in if you get 2 more wire connectors to fit in the underside. This is a good setup use because any parts store should have a replacement and you could use 2 of the relays for the headlight mod.

I can't believe no one has mentioned the "tight wad mod" for the fuel pressure regulator.
It is taking the FPR off of the fuel bowl and cutting and tapping it so it can be used without the fuel bowl present.
I am running that FPR and a $40 superduty pump off ebay. A fleetgaurd filter head and CAT 2 micron filter. Made for a pretty cheap E-fuel conversion. Pressure holds good at around 65 psi.
