1989 5.8 ecu harness. Can I get one

I have a nice lord truck with a 5.8, C6 trans, 1989 f250

My glaring weak point is the harness that runs from the fire wall to the rest of the engine bay. I want to leave the truck as stock as possible but don't mind a little splicing if necessary. Will one of the aftermarket harness work? If not does anyone know the part number I seek?

Thanks,

Z

You stand a very slim chance of finding a new harness anywhere. Sourcing one from a salvage yard is your best best.

What are you trying to accomplish?

In short there are no aftermarket replacements available. I spend the last two weeks looking for one and ended up buying a universal kit from EZ Wiring. I'm slowly getting it installed but it is a pain in the butt.

Good luck

Copy that on the aftermarkets. If anyone has the factory part number it would actually help a ton. It of course has the round plug and the rectangle plug on the firewall. On the universal how do you hook it up to the ecu and the round plug at the firewall that goes into the cab/fuse box?

Again the factory part number would help me a lot.

Thanks all,

Z

Hoping people will check this thread again. I found a harness and pulled it from a 1990 with a 351, the only difference is that truck had an overdrive tranny and push button 4wd I have a C6 and manual transfer case. Can I swap the new harness in and just leave that stuff unplugged? If not I guess I have a decent harness (and the ecu) if someone needs them. What I've got in them plus shipping.

I would really like to make this harness work as it's in good shape and mines pretty rotted.
