Thank you for the link. I personally always like a choice on the engine. I'm sure the 3.5 is great but this is not a Subaru Forester, an Expedition is a big vehicle with various reasons to own and operate. Might be owned just to transport people or to two a big **** boat. I like engine choices.
Current 5.4 in the Expy - 310 HP / 365 TQ
Current EB in the F-150 - 365 HP / 420 TQ
Estimated EB output in the 2015 Navigator and Expy - 370 HP / 430 TQ
The EcoBoost makes more power and torque everywhere than the current engine while also being more efficient in every respect.
You need to drive one and tow with it....it'll make a believer out of you.

You've obviously never towed with an EcoBoost. I have and can tell you that it will tow circles around the 5.4 any day of the week. I've had two 5.4s in an F-150 and an Expedition and I currently have an EcoBoost in my SHO. I've also driven and towed with an EcoBoost F-150 so I'm not just blowing smoke when I tell you that the EB is a huge leap forward for the Expy.

John, thanks for the graph. Pretty impressive. You are correct I never drove or towed with one.
Looks like the Ecoboost is a clear winner. I still like engine choices. Let's say maybe a choice between a Ecoboost and a Powerstroke.

Unfortunately I doubt it'll happen unless they can bring it in at a reasonable price point. I would definitely like to see the 5.0 available in it though. The 6.2 in the GM SUVs is a great engine and is very powerful and it'd be nice to see something besides the EB as competition for it but I doubt the 6.2 from Ford will ever see the engine bay of the Expedition.
Definitely go drive an EcoBoost when you get a chance though. I still can't believe how powerful it is and the one in my SHO has 70 lbs less TQ than the one in the trucks. Granted, the trucks are heavier but with the added torque and the three available rear gear ratios, the thing is just amazing. Some of the guys on here have the 3.73 with the EB and they're amazed by just how well they pull.
In fact, check out this thread:

Scroll down to the video of Tom's EB F-150 pulling the trailer of gravel and then look below the video at the weight on the scales afterward. Out of all of the PSD and V10 trucks there, his EB F-150 was the fastest up the hill at a GCW 21,480 lbs.

I'd love to see a baby PSD in the Expy lineup!
