64 top loader, three on the tree in a 62 4x4?

Hi, I'm trying to fix my 62 f100 and I found a guy with a 3 speed transmission from a 64 f100 that bolts on apparently just like mine. I was wondering if anyone could help me narrow down what I have and what will work as a replacement. Mine won't currently go in first gear, it will go into first gear but will "pop out" of first if I let the clutch out. I want to rebuild mine as a spare and run this other 64 transmission for now. Any help is appreciated and here are some pictures of my transmission.

The 64 should be 3.03 with syncro on first. Nice find. I have a 64 with a 62 tranny and no forst syncro.

I bought the 64 top loader transmission, it shifted through all gears by hand fine, hopefully it will bolt on...

Ford type 3.03 3 speed manual all syncromesh transmission introduced in 1963 F100/250, Galaxie & Fairlane/Meteor/Falcon/Comet w/V8's. Used thru 1986 in a gazillion different vehicles.

1962 and earlier Borg Warner T-86 3 speed manual does not have a syncromesh 1st gear.

The output shaft and extension housings of passenger cars are different lengths than trucks. Have a flange on the housing that the trans mount bolts to.

The bell housings used on 1961/64 F100/250 2WD/4WD, 1961/66 F350, 1965 F100/250 4WD, 1966 F250 4WD have 2 'ears' that the rear motor mounts attach to.

Swapping in a 3.03 into a 1962, the trans may/may not bolt to the bell housing, the driveshaft may be a different length.

if you have a 62 4wd with divorced transfer case, I'm guessing you couldn't get a 62 shortbed with 4wd? Is that correct? Anybody?
