Deed is done - dotted line signed!
It's done. My new 2014 F-150 is ordered. Now the wait for 8-12 weeks . The good news is that by the time the truck arrives in april/may all of the tons of salt that have been dumped on the roads this winter should be gone, washed off by spring rains. You can tell I'm old school because I cringe when I think of exposing a brand new vehicle to all that corrosive salt. I know that new vehicles are better rust proofed now then what they were 20 years ago but in the winter I still wash my vehicles and spray underneath them and around the wheel wells monthly. More often if I feel it's required. How am I going to get through the next couple of months

I know you were curious about whether or not to get HIDs...so tell us what you ordered!

Ok - here goes - from the order sheet; 2014 F-150 XLT, SuperCrew Cab, 5.5' box, 145"WB, 3.5L EB engine, 6 speed select-shift automatic, Electronic Locking 3.55 axle ratio, GVWR 7,350lb payload package, Equipment Group 302A Luxury, P275/65RX18 OWL tires on 18" Bright-Clad Aluminum rims, Cloth Bucket Seats with centre console, AM/FM Stereo/Clock/Single-CD, XTR Package, Trailer Tow Package, 5" Chrome Tubular running boards, OEM Full coverage rubber floor mats, HID headlamps, Black Power Glass Heated Trailer Tow Mirrors, Remote Start System, Tailgate step (grampa's step) Trailer Brake Controller, Rearview Camera, Reverse Sensing System, XLT Convenience Package, SecuriCode Keyless-Entry Keypad, Power Adjustable pedals, Drop in Bedliner, Oxford White exterior, Pale Adobe interior.
The different packages actually have more included but this gives you a general idea. I was more sure of what I didn't want then what I wanted. I waffled on a few things eg: HID lights, 6.2L engine, 6 1/2' box, 3.73 gear ratio but I was sure that I didn't want a moonroof or a GPS navigation system. There's too many distractions already when driving. I'll take a nice picture when I get it and make it part of my signature. For now you have to look at my very dirty F-350. What do you think of the new build.

Congrats!
I'm sure you won't be disappointed with the 3.55s. Ask Tom about his 3.73s, he would much prefer a 3.55 or 3.31 for every day use but needed the 3.73 for max tow. You will see better mileage numbers than the 3.73 guys.
Hopefully, they will deliver your new rig earlier than expected. Don't forget to post up pics or it didn't happen

The very same thing that someone else had commented on in another thread. I don't want to be a Beta tester for Ford (IIRC they used the term guinea pig). Most of the things on my new truck have been out in the real world for a few years so I have a reasonably good comfort level with them. Lemons do happen but overall my chances are better with a current year model. I'm retired but I probably have another new truck left in me yet so if the 2015's prove to be trouble free - who knows
