MotorCraft Warranty Info
Here's something posted in another FTE forum about Motorcraft parts: Ford Beefs up Parts Warranty: Two Years/Unlimited Mileage plus Labor « F150online.com
This is great news for me and anyone else insisting on Ford parts despite the fact they tend to initially be of a higher price than off-brand stuff.
Those of use who've learned Ford's can be very particular towards maintaining performance and driveability will probably enjoy this new feature, those new to servicing their own rides are advised to consider it when choosing "cheaper still fits and works........" parts!

Personally...I stay away from Motorcraft with old Fords. I had an 89 Foxbody that blew threw the motorcraft parts. I switched out with various other brands and found better life. I can't say much about the never Fords. But I do use Champion, Duralast(never had a personal issue with their parts), and Bosch mostly.

For the Modular Motors produced from '97 forward any sensor or even the spark plugs are known to work best with the ECM when they're Motorcraft. Time after time in the V8 & V10 forums someone using cheaper non-MC parts has performance issues, switching to MC fixes it.
Some parts less critical to the ECM's involvement can be swapped out with good brands from the aftermarket though---there's more than a few really good choices of other parts readily available.
If there's an upside to me buying OEM stuff from my local dealer its typical quick delivery, competitive pricing and for the most time they'll know the correct part from my VIN.
I do have to wonder though why Ford only now offers this----NAPA and others have had something similar in place for years.

Well that is info I will keep. I did do Autolite plats on an 05 E250 about a month ago and it still running like a champ. But I will keep that suggestion noted.
When I do build the 5.4L I am getting from this guy, I will be doing all Motorcraft or higher quality parts.
My issues may have been the fact that these older Ford motors get some new like that and they scare too easy. Lol!
