I have a 2000 7.3 that is stock at the moment.i wanted to put an exhaust system on it that will make it as loud as possible.whats some suggestions?

 

I took the stock muffler off my 2002 7.3 and replaced it with a piece of pipe. $80 at a local shop, parts and labor. In the truck it's not that loud but from outside the truck while getting on it you'll definitely want take it easy around cops.

It's still the stock 3.5" though, if you want even louder than that just go bigger, 4", 5".

Now that I'm typing this I'm thinking that a large stack in the bed would be louder. Shorter and bigger pipe equals louder.

All of these suggestions may not be legal in all states.

 

there you go,exit as close to the cab as possible.that would have been my choice 35 years ago.have fun.

 

Cut a hole in the firewall on the passenger side and spin your downpipe into a "backpipe". Open it there or pass it through to the bed... whatever works for you.
