Looking at purchasing an 06 Expedition and had a friend and a seperate dealership try to run an Oasis report for me. Both of them had "Vin unavailable" come up. Neither could figure out why. I confirmed the vin number was correct with the seller.
Does anyone know why we got this message and is it anything to be concerned about?
Any insight would be great.

Try entering the vin into one of the window sticker look up tools to see if it really is good. Replace the vin at the end of this string with your VIN:

Hmmm..... not coming up on that. But my insurance company can pull it up and quote me. Also, "carfax" and "Decodethis website" can find it.

I also plugged it into "FLEET.FORD" website without a problem.

I will triple check the vin with the seller tonight.

try here:
FordEtis home page

click on the "vehicle" tab and enter the Vin.
see if that works.

it won't give you any history but it should bring up all of the options that came from the factory. (if it works)

That did work. Showed all options and build date. I wonder why it isn't showing up in the OTIS system though. Must not be a huge deal. Just kind of got me nervous when my friend and dealer were both stumped that it wasn't available. Sounded like both of them never incountered that.
I wonder if this happens a lot?
