Who has an Airdog Fuel/Air Separator??

Who has or has had an Airdog fuel/air separator? Just curious if they are worth the money and all they are cracked up to be? I know air in our fuel system is not exactly something you want. but would an FRx do just about the same thing?

If they really do all they say they do why does it seem like no one really runs them unless they have fairly major engine up grades. I searched through here and didn't find any threads so whats the deal guys??

I've been wondering the same thing. Everyone I know with a Cummins has an Airdog or Fass pump, but it doesn't seem like they're very popular with the powerstroke guys.

I think because our system now works pretty good. Guys will either piece together a unit or they will delete the fuel bowl and install a regulated return because they need more fuel for the higher HP engines.

I HAVE AN AIR DOG ON MY TRUCK. ITS GREAT WHEN IT WORKS MY TRUCK RUNS ALOT BETTER WITH THE CHIP IN HIGH HP SETTINGS I CAN TELL A BIG DIFFERENCE WHEN THE AIR DOG IS NOT WORKING. THE ONLY THING THAT IRRITATES ME IS THERE ARE NOT REPLACEMENT PARTS, THE ONLY THING THAT CAN BE REPLACED IS THE ELECTRIC MOTOR. IF ANYTHING GOES WRONG WITH THE PUMP ASSEMBLY LIKE THE MOTOR SUPPORT BEARING, GEOROTOR ASSEMBLY OR THE SEALS YOU HAVE TO REPLACE THE WHOLE PUMP ASSEMBLY. IVE BEEN FIGHTING MY ELECTRIC MOTOR DRAWING MOISTURE SINCE WINTER STARTED.

I've never had one, but from the posts of those that have had them, it seems to me their longevity isn't good and their customer service isn't either.

Nope, from what I have seen they fail quite often.

Interesting info guys. With a name as popular as theirs and the price the units cost I guess a guy would assume that they are of better quality. But these days I think that is very naïve to expect that. Looks like I will just order an FRx from Clay and I'm sure I'll be very happy with it, knowing first hand Clay's reputation and quality parts. Thanks guys.

Well I now have a $600 filter base Lol I took the pump assembly off the top and I am making a block off plate due to the pump shaft seal leaking and AD not offering replacement seals or any parts. I will be putting a helper pump between the filters and tank.

I have a AD2-165 with a life time warranty. So far not a problem with it.
