What retread companies are you looking at? I have heard good things about treadwright.com. I was going to get tires from them but a local store had a buy 3 get one free sale. Plus a $80 mail in rebate. Couldn't beat it.

I'm planning to order from treadcappers, out of Nashville. They don't do bead to bead like treadwrite but I'm getting tires for the the wife's Tribute too and it's hard to turn down free shipping.

I did some Google searching on the company you mentioned. I didn't find much talk about them honestly. What I did find was equally negative and there good for trail rigs. Yes the free shipping is tempting to buy a set. If you do due side to buy a set please post pics, first impression review & latter a review on how they are holding up.

I have seen treadwright tires in person. I liked them a lot. Clean molded, and did well in the mud. I have heard of local guys using them year round on daily driven trucks and farm trucks with no issues. Next time I need tires I am looking into retreads unless I find a killer deal like last time.

got the tires Friday but I had upload issues.

First impression: kinda ugly, you can tell the casing has been used and where the new rubber has been added is pretty obvious. I like the tread, looks a lot like a BFG mud terrain T/A rubber seems pretty soft though. I get them mounted Tuesday night, I'll post again after they're on.

Tread design is just like my buddies Guard dog M/T's from treadwright. They did really well in the mud and on what little rock we were able to play on. It is a trail rig only. No clue how they would do on the road. I like the design myself.

Thank you for posting pics. Updates on how they perform would be great.

Finally got the tires mounted. 3 of the 4 took an obscene amount of weight to balance (you can see in one of the pictures) but there isn't any vibration. their not any noisier than the A/T tires on my wife's SUV. made a couple of short freeway hops, they seem to run just fine, now I just need some mud!

Looks good with the aggressive tread. Yes that is a lot of weight!!!

Side note you have a very clean/nice looking truck.

Got any updates on how the tread is wearing? Have they stayed in balance well?

UPDATE

So I've got about 12'000 miles on the re-caps. They seem to be holding up well except for one

Separation anxiety

It actually seems to still be bonded well on the tread, just there where it transitions into side wall. The company I purchased them from recommends 60psi min and I ran them quite a bit at 40psi.

They're still loud but they behave well on the highway, grip was excellent in the snow with about 200-300lbs of ballast in the bed. Grip in the mud is not the greatest but not bad either.

I didnt have a tread gage so, nickle for scale

Next time around I'll probably go with Treadwrite and see how they hold up

This is what I did. Strictly a tow/haul vehicle though.
