fuel filter and check engine light
I think I may have had gelled fuel this morning. The truck started but would not accelerate. So I hopped in our other vehicle and took my son to school.
Let it warm up until this afternoon. Now same thing but with check engine light. Could plugged fuel filters do this. I am due for a change but need to wait until the wife gets home so i can run up and get some filters.
It is a solid engine light but I do not have a reader to check it.

White smoke maybe just due to the cold weather. Unless you are loosing coolant or the exhaust smells somewhat sweet then I don't think coolant.
If...changing the filters were needed to due gelling then your check engine light may go away after a drive cycle or two.
You could try to get the code read at a auto parts store. If it is a generic emissions code then they can read it.

I am not sure. My radiator recently developed a leak but I refuse to take it back to the dealer as they do not want to warranty it at 101k miles. They know it is a defect. My truck has always smoked during regen in the cold but this is different. After I got it restarted and went for a test drive (cold engine so no regen) it smoked from the get go and never stopped. Also, the tailpipe has always been dry and clean. After this drive it was dripping wet. I did disconnect the battery for several minutes and it did not clear the check engine. Right now I am looking up local diesel shops to take it to.

No warranty. And mine is a job one so I think it has the old style egr with the coolant hose to the valve. So hopefully that is my white smoke.
I am hoping the low fuel pressure was either from the fuel or maybe when i was repriming it to get it started.
Now, should i just delete or put a new egr in.
