Ford did make a fitting that screws into the manifold with one straight vacuum port coming out. You might check some other engines for one of those. Otherwise, your original fitting will be fine. Just cap off the large port for the power brakes.

In a nutshell: the kickdown initiates downshifts, the vacuum modulator controls the speed and firmness of upshifts. Internally, these devices are varying the throttle pressure against the line pressure to control the hydraulic pressure acting upon the clutch drums, servos, etc. that complete each shift. Sorry, I really don't remember the exact details for the C-6 but that's the general principal.

Are you going to use that long tail c6?(17inch) If so hope you got the mounts. You know they are a completly diffrent animal then the normal 13 inch tailshaft. you may be in for some fabricating.

if so Alex what is your opition would they fit a 351c 2v if we modify it some. i want to know what is the length if possible for the top of the flange of the headers where it hooks to the motor to the bottle of the collector. what is the length on that. could you maybe help me out man. they look like a old bronco type headers but my dad owns a 1956 f100 pickup and we need some headers that will go down under the crossmemeber under the frame. and yet we dont want them to be too long to where there almost hitting the ground let me know. thanks

down side is you will have to fabricate rear mount and cross member as no after market ones are availible that I know of. Some form of "U" type bracket will be needed as this trans. bolts from the sides as you can see.The shorter 13 inch tail shaft mounts from a flat pad on the bottom of the tail shaft thus giving you more options as to pads and mounting. The up side is there is enough engine bay and fire wall clearance to use your stock drive shaft which will save $. Also note that if you plan to use a column shift the selector lever on the trans needs to pointing down not up to get the correct shift patern P-R-N-D-1-2. These are big C6,s and unique to the Lincons, Mercs, and I beleive soom T-birds. I run this trans. behind a big block in my 59 so it can be done just think it through and trial fit and measure accurately be for final assembly.

Can you post some pictures of how you mounted your trans in your 59? If I can I would like to use the trans crossmember I have "I already ordered one for a c6" but make a bracket so it can bolt to the trans and also the cross member.

ok thanks you very much bro my dad said make sure your engine is nice and centered. i thank you we have two sets of headers headmen, and doug thorly .and just wanted to know what style headers you had. our headers fit both of them. just the crossmemeber that supports the frame the headers get in the way. but it fits if we take the crossmemeber out. so by like 2inches. there is only two inchs for the headers to bolt to the engine so its close its like the bottem collector needs to go down like 2 inchs and it will miss our crossmemeber. so thought i ask about yours dude. right now we are at a stand still point are self. but good luck dude. i am too new with this site. so learning from other peoples ideas are nice.
