Is it just me???

Is It just me or do the F series cup holds SUCK!!!

Im the kinda guy that loves Fountain drinks - DP With Vanilla is the drink of choice... Anyway Friday nights - Saturday nights I love to grab a pack of Cigs (MB Reds) and a Fountain and cruse up in down main.... At least once a night I have some jack azs pull out in front of me and I have to slam on the brakes - The first time this happened with my f350 I was just starting to pull out of the fueling station and had a fresh (Dp) - My (Dp) Went flying into the floor board- *I DIDIN EVEN GET A SIP* Iv lost a few good drinks since then as well.

So am I the only one with this problem or do the cup holds in our trucks suck?

Iv been thinking about pulling the middle seat and making some kinda console section. Anyone Done anything like this?

Which seats do you have? Not that it matters, pretty sure the cup holder sucks regardless.

I have the 40/20/40 center console paint shaker edition. If the bottom of the cup holder can't be drilled out to be made deeper, maybe the floppy rubber ears can be cut out and some sort of cylindrical insert can make it seem deeper?

I'll watch this thread to see what you come up with!

I have the 40/20/40 cup holders. What i did is i went to walmart and bought the plastic cup holders that have the little plastic that you can put in the window and i cut that piece off and have them sit in the cup holders works fine with big fountain drinks.

Darn good idea! I might modify the holders in my F150.

Its a little off the starting topic but will the 99 svt lightning seats bolt in to a 95 f350 crew cab. I want to put them in both the front and back rows.

I've dumped quite a few drinks on the floor of OBS trucks as well. I hate the stock cup holders. I ended up putting in a F-150 center console and I love it. Best interior mod yet in my book. Here is the link to my thread.

In the past I have used the 4 for $1 Bell/Wally World cup holders, retrofitted a cup holder designed for a boat, and used the magnetic beer can holder from my riding mower to keep drinks in their place. While all a bit crude they do the job a la function over form etc...

I must say after seeing the thread regarding the newer F series console once before by Mr. Chris56ford I am electing to go this route in the up coming summer (fingers crossed...) when I lightly update the interior on my 95 PSD. I think its a great idea .

Thats a good idea - I plain to completely redo at the very least the front seating set up.
I plan on doing hotshoting with my truck on down the line and I wanna make it luxurious as I can.

I think I will us some kinda bucket seating in the front and keep the bad the way it is.

Never spilled a drink with these cup holders, and the seats are comfortable too!

My '96 XL doesn't even have cupholders... until I converted the stock turbine housing into one.

I went the DIY store. Bought a piece of PVC pipe with an OD that was a very snug press fit into the cup holders. Cut it about 3/4 inch taller than the cup holder. Painted it black. It will hold the typical 44 oz drink cup. Works very well. Spilled one to many drinks in short order.
