71 Ranger XLT OEM speaker questions

Does anyone know what the OEM speaker configuration/specs was for the door speakers in this truck? It seems that a single speaker in the dash was standard and all the shop/parts manuals reference that speaker BUT my XLT had speakers in the doors, which are mentioned as options in the sales brochure. The speaker covers are there and they match the pictures in the brochure, but all the speakers were missing when I bought the truck last year (one of several minor oddities in an otherwise good deal).

Question #1: Would the door speakers have been in lieu of the dash speaker or in addition to the dash speaker? The dash speaker louvres are there of course but that doesn't necessarily mean there was a speaker there.

#2: Would they have used the same standard speaker for the doors as the dash (6x9 oval I think?) or, if not, what did they use in the doors?

There was a non-functioning (not just speaker related) POS aftermarket 80s-90s stereo in there when I bought it that I'm gonna replace with one of those vintage-looking Custom Autosound (?) radios (already got it). I got another OEM bezel 'cause a PO cut-out a portion of the original bezel (grrrrrrr) to fit the crap stereo I threw out.

Obviously I need some speakers and I want ones that will fit similar to original, but regardless of what I end up getting I would still like to understand what it was like originally.

Any info will be greatly appreciated!

Door speakers would have been used in conjunction with the rare factory AM/FM radio option.
