Extended warranty or not......

Extended warranty or not......
I have never gotten my investment back out of an extended warranty, so I typically don't buy them for anything. I have a 2012 F250 CCSB FX4 with the 6.7 that has been flawless so far. I am sitting at 34k miles right now and will put another 15K or so on this summer running to our vacation/retirement property and back a number of times. I read the radiator issues and start to lean towards buying the warranty, but the frugal side of me says No, don't do it.... It says buy the Titan tank instead....
I would like to hear from folks and get their opinion on this decision.
Thanks in advance for your input.

I don't buy extended warranties either, except for this truck.
You can easily get it for under $2,000 and it's great insurance.
I personally think it's a smart investment when you could have a $20,000 repair covered by it.
I've already had a mirror replaced under ESP and that's a piece of hardware that's over $1,000.

I've never been one to buy warranty coverage either. On the 2008 diesel and on my current 2011 diesel, I have come out ahead by approx. $20,000. I always recommend it on these new diesels.
The engine technology on any 2008 or newer diesel is still in the first two generations. There have been many problems, not widespread panic, but many things that need yet to be refined/redesigned/engineered. I'm not sure anyone with a new Diesel engine should be without an extended warranty.

ok, haha here it goes. I got my truck a 2011 f350 used with 58k. i decide to get the extended instead of deleting everything and going tuned. Same cost, 4k for the warranty. It takes me to 145k and i have a 10 day rental with zero deductible. Now, with that said. My truck is currently in the shop. Was in Tucson 3 hours from where i live and my truck randomly started losing power and running horribly. I took it in and they think i have bad injectors. So, it will be covered. However, i have had and still have problems that ford service on here told me to bring it in for and then i got charged for bringing it in when they said it was a normal issue (rear end bounces from 45-50, rattle noise in bed) because the guy working on my truck has the same one and his does it.........!!! I have had erg sensors go out and they fixed them no issue even though the dealer tried to charge me to update my computer... aha ford got that taken care of real fast.
so, idk haah! some days i wish i never did and had a tuned truck that sounds so ****ing good its insane. However, today when they are possibly replacing 4 injectors I'm happy..
hope that helps.

Free life time powertrain
I have two ford dealers within 20 miles of where I live. One of them, Athens ford in Athens, GA offers a free lifetime powertrain warranty. See their website for more details. I disscused the details with a sales rep and this will cover the usual components for powertrain, but not the radiator and such. But does cover the fuel system, turbo, tranny, rear end, etc. same as Ford's powertrain. I can even keep my own records as I usually do. The warranty isn't transferable. Similar to the lifetime warranty that dodge offered for a short period.
For free, I just might switch from my life long (7 vehicles) dealership that is two miles from the house, unless they will match the offer of course.
What do you neighbor fellows think, maybe worth the drive?
Just a little food for thought
