i see more dodge pickups on the roads now then anything else. i wonder why that is? last time i had a dodge it was a real bugger. they musta got allot better or something.

 

IMO, it comes down to one word, Cheaper.

What is cheaper about a Dodge? Fords are by far the cheapest. 6.0s about half of anything else. My friend has one very similar to my F350, except it literally cost twice as much. And has had just as many problems.

So many stupid people think they have to have a "Cummins", or better yet, a "Cummings". When you ask them why they can't give you a reason. Most of them don't use it for anything besides getting groceries anyway.

 

Original price makes it. Last I knew, you could still buy a Ram with a Cummins for around $35k. Most likely from the poor quality parts used, aka cheap.

 

Possibly a stripped out base model from a dealer you're in good with, but that's not what you see everywhere. And you can get a cheap Ford that way too.

I went to ramtrucks.com and priced an SLT 4 door, 4WD short bed with a 6.7L, they are $47,285 MSRP.

Go to ford.com, an XLT 4 door, 4WD short bed with a 6.7L is $50,875 MSRP. At the dealer, basically the same price.

 

Way more Fords in Northern Colorado than Dodges. Hardly any diesel GM products.

As for prices, the 6.0 is for the most part, higher priced than 7.3 vehicles, turning point seemed to be this last Spring. 7.3 used to bring a premium, but not anymore.
