New steering coming together

With the help of my brothers I finally got to mount up my new power steering box hopefully have it setup for a test drive by the end of the week

Looking good. By the way, that lower flex hose is a no-no in the radiator business, they tend to put alot of stress on the rad goose-neck I've repaired a ton of radiators because of those.

That's all my parts store had to offer for top and bottom I personally don't like the flex hoses they look cheap in my opinion just couldn't find a formed hose

Got a little more done this weekend got the new hp dana 44 finally complete and ready to bolt in and the frame all cleaned up around the new brackets

Nice wasn't expecting to see a 4x4 getting power steering when I first opened this thread. What did you do on the inside of the frame rail for the power steering mounting? Are you using a 78-79 f250 4x4 Dana 44 high pinion axle and power steering box?

It's a hp 44 out of a 78 f250 the steering box is a saginaw from a dodge truck and the frame is fully boxed and sleeved where the box mounts

Looking good more pic from diff places and are you replacing the brake lines

I had atlas springs make me new springs to lift it a little and yes I need to buy new brake lines still it's going to be a slow process since I work full time and go to school plus I have a family it'll come together slowly I'm focused on getting the steering together first

I managed to get the original axle removes last night and got the new one out of the garage hopefully I'll get it bolted up in a day or so

Thanks once again bill hard to believe the hoses are obsolete I'll have to look into those now as far as my power steering pump goes I have an eaton 1100 with the seperate resevoir I was looking into finding a filter and gasket for the resevoir they don't look to bad but figured after all these years it could prob use a new one

A little update the axle is in and surprisingly no mods to driveshaft needed just need to get a piece of tubing to finish up my draglink and brake lines to hopefully finish off this part of the project


And for those that wanted to see the inside of the frame
