Do not apologize for my sake. He had a picture!!
Albatross has an open differential but it would sure be crazy fun to have a four wheel drive F500 some day. Poor saplings.

He seems to want a goodly sum for that. I'd want to carefully evaluate his estimation that "all mechanical work" was actually done, and done right, for that price. If'n I was alookin'.

I have been in talks with the current owner and the previous owner. twice now I have almost pulled the trigger on this truck.

I has had a lot of work done to it and its a solid correct vehicle form Colorado.

I just have to say no, I'm saying no, one more time NO! I just cant do it, even though my wife gave me the go ahead on it, and believe me if it was a MH It would already been in my shop!

I just didn't like the Coleman 4x4

Hard enough to fine MH parts let alone coleman parts.

Also all 4 of the sphere wheel covers were missing and without them I hate the look of the front hub assembly, but that's just me

And the Dayton style rims, just don't like the look

You know a Coleman conversion on a Ford is very rare. As far as the parts couldn't you find them on Chevy and GMC trucks that had the Coleman conversion?

I thought Chevy and GMC used both Coleman and Napco.... or was Coleman a smaller player in the market?

I would say a Coleman conversion on anything is rare. I used to drive past a 51 F3 coleman with all the domed caps for sale on a trailer in front of a house between Mt. Vernon and Burlington Wa. This was about 4 years ago. Building recession in full swing. I didn't dare knock and ask how much. I was in the process of selling trucks I had.... to pay my bills. I think the one in the ad looks pretty nice. If it has most all the important mechanical parts, I doubt any of us would use it hard enough to need replacements, and looking for the missing sphere caps could make for some fun 'scouting missions'.

I admire your restraint, Kevin. I figured the thing would be at home in Ohio long ago. Stu

Someone should buy this truck who really appreciates 56 Fords!

Here is your donor truck. If the big job shares any Coleman parts that is?? I wouldn't have a clue.

Edit: adding pic of the 56 since once the ad is gone some of us might still want to see pictures of it! So have you called yet...

Iirc someone, probably Chuck, said the coleman conversions were like a mail order kit and then you installed all the four wheel drive bits yourself. That may explain why they are so rare. And I would think those hub covers could be remade. They build motorcycle tanks by hand all the time, covers would be no problem if your wallet could handle it. And Bigwin, if I am lucky enough to find a 52 MH F1 and need to thin the herd, you will receive a pm about my F3. Unless of course you already have your MH by then.

Sorry but I'm holding out for a 56 f100 f250 or even a f350 MH
