289/C4 in a 61

I am swapping in a 289 out of a 65 mustang and a C4 out of a 66 falcon into my 61 long bed. I have two questons. First should the engine be level in the engine compartment or how much of an angle should it have? Second queston. The C4 was behind a 6cly. Will it be alright behind my 289?
Thanks for your help.

the c-4 is fine for the 289. as for the angle, the carb mounting surface should be level to the ground to be perfect, but I wouldn't worry if it was a little bit off, you might just have to adjust the float level.
