Neeed help desiging some advertisement on my X
Guys, I have a friend that sells LED lights and I'm letting him use my X to put advertising on but neither of us is good at designing stuff on trucks and I was wondering if I could get some help.
Because it could be construed as advertising and apparently it's not allowed, I won't post any pics or info of any kind so if anyone would like to give me a hand, please pm me.
I have the Excursion template in vector format and I have a couple of designs that I tried to do but the thing is, I would like to get help from people that KNOW what's doable and what's not doable in vinyl. You know, can we do outlines, drop shadows (I know that drop shadows will be done by putting a darker text underneath..), can we go over the handles and all that stuff.
I can draw something but I don't understand the logistics behind it which is where I really need the help.
He's already paid the guy that's going to do it but of course, not that he's gotten paid, he's not all that helpful (surprise, surprise..). he's having a hard time getting him to send us a few samples/design ideas and I thought that maybe I can get some help here. You obviously don't have to be in the business but it would help very much if you knew what you were doing so that I can get it done right.
He was talking about removing the door protector which I have no problem with. Whatever is going to make it look good.
I need it to be short, sweet and bold and easy to see. We're talking about reflective vinyl and the main message will be the website URL. The truck is grey (actually, I think it's supposed to arizona gold but it sure looks grey to me. I wanted the URL to be in fluorescent green or as close as we could get it because it matches the logo on his site.
I wanted to do this as a contest but again, that would have been considered advertising I think. Sure would have been fun though.
Thanks for any help and mods, if this is somehow against the rules, I would really appreciate it if you gave me the chance to make corrections rather than removing it. I am NOT trying to break any rules.

Any decent Wrap Company will design and display the graphics for you. You tell them the theme and they go crazy. In So Cal I am amazed at all the designs on vehicle wraps. The possibilities are limitless.
I have seen coffins, wildlife, man sittin on a crapper, empty warehouses, full rooms, showroom displays. If there is a picture they will make it into a wrap.

If you go to a local technical college and ask to speak to a graphic art professor and ask him to see if any students would help. Ive done this before and had great success. Offer to put their college/student name on the wrap somewhere and give them a couple hundred bucks. I offered the class $500 for the student who designed the graphic that I liked the best. Had several that were very good. Got it in about 3 days

Guys, now that I got the graphic to show up, could I get some input on the design please?
Good? Sucks! Improved? Is this doable and so on. I want it to be as visible as possible but still looking decent.
Also, I favor clean and simple over a bunch of stuff that makes it look cluttered.
The vinyl WILL be reflective and again, max visibility is the primary concern.
Needless to say, that's not THE domain and I changed it to avoid any issues with advertisement but the domain name is about the same length.
Thanks for any comments

Personally, I think that design is just to over the top and in your face. I think people will think it is more obnoxious than memorable. I am not sure what your design limitations are, but I would think something more classic, something memorable, something that will turn heads, but in a good way.
more like this...
or this...
or even as simple as this...
but less this...
or this...
or especially this...
I guess it all boils down to how you want people to remember you and of course, are you going to want to see it every time you look at your Ex?
On a side note, I do dabble a little in graphic design, so if you need a hand, just PM me

Well, I didn't pay for a full body wrap so that's out of the question nor do I really want something that's more complicated. I DO want it in your face kind of so when I drive down the road, they can't miss it. As for me looking at it, I really don't care.
I really like the green truck but again, not gonna happen.
As for design help, I would love to but alas, no money
Thanks

No money needed, I play around with designs for fun, and if I can help you get closer to what you are looking for, then it is worth the time.
Just send me a PM if you are interested, I am more than happy to help! Also, if loud is what you want, then lets make it happen
