No power steering even W/ new pump

Well I'm in the process of resurrecting this beast and I have a new problem. I have no power steering. I bought a kit and rebuilt my OE pump with no luck. So I bought another pump and now I have some but it's not enough. At idle I have none but higher rpm I have decent power. Could the steering box be clogged or bad? Any ideas on something else to check?

Did you bleed the air out of the system?

See this thread: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...-steering.html

Posts #3 and #9 have good tips on how to flush the old fluid and bleed the system.

No luck at all. I finally got some time this weekend to get it in the garage. I put it up on stands and turned the wheel lock to lock about 10 times and I've got the same amount of power. Looks like I'm replacing the box.

I would check the ball joints as well. A ball joint that binds up will cause difficult steering and it may be tight enough that the PS pump cannot overcome it.

Well I know it's been a while but I finally figured this out. It was the gearbox. Thanks for all of the help.
