Yesterday I was sitting around talking to the hvac foreman at my job, about how I want to get a 4 door truck soon since mine is a reg cab. In the conversation I mentioned that I would probably get a expedition since I didn't need another pickup. He then told me he had a 99 expedition with 110k that needs a rear brake line and a coil pack that I can have. He said his wife wants it gone since they got a new suv.
I can't wait to dive into this thing and get it back on the road. Might be snooping around this forum more as I'm sure I will have some questions
Me neither. I've been praying though. I've been out of work for 5 months due to a triple lumbar fusion, I have a 16 month old, my wife was unemployed and I just found out I have 2 months to move. Well within the last week we sold enough stuff to move, and on the same day my wife found a job, we found a apartment and I got this truck. Finally things are looking up. I'm a fighter and I certainly don't quit at anything but this last year has pushed me to the edge. I am so gratefull things are turning around
Just an update. I did get this truck but have been having some issues. Cylinder 2 and 8 aren't getting a signal to fire. I suspect the computer as I got different codes from the CEL at different times. It will be going into ford on august 4th so hopefully they can figure it out
It's the computer, wire, or connector. You can probably trace it down yourself and save a good chunk of change.
If its a wire or coil connectors I will replace them myself but if it's the comouter, ford will have to reprogram the PATS system anyways so i might as well keep it there and have them do it. If not ill have to load it back on the trailer, only to bring it home for it to not work again and then wait another 3 weeks for ford to take it back in.
Plus they are doing a full look over of the truck anyways so this diagnostic test will be easy for them to do while it's there.
I liked it too. Had to trade it in this week. My wife wrecked her car and I spent over $1200 trying to fix this $1500 truck so it went away. I would definitely own another but this one didn't work out for me
It was a nice truck but after spending all my money trying to make it run, and even ford couldnt figure it out, I needed the trade in value for out new car. We ended up with a 2014 Fiesta. We went from a 08 fusion to that so it seems very small but I had escorts for years so it is fine for me. We will upgrade again in a few years
