Gauging value of my truck

I am not sure if this is the section to post in, but I am going for it.

I currently have a 2004 F 350 King Ranch with 150,000. It is white with the copper accent stripe around the bottom and is a SRW with the 8 ft bed. It is a crew cab and is loaded by 2004 standards.

It has the 6.0 and it had the turbo rebuilt and head gaskets done at 120,000 miles when I bought it. It currently has no issues and I have taken care of any mechanical issues that have arisen while I have owned it. It has the FX4 package and a grill guard.

The interior leather is in very good condition and the rear leather is excellent. The interior is a 9-9.5/10.

The exterior is pretty clean. There is one small dent near the tail light on the passenger side where the truck was backed into before I purchased it. it is a crease that is approx. 3 in long and 3/8 in tall and 1/8 in deep and it is on the paint line where the copper meets the white. The plastic trim on the doors has the clear coat coming off. I would say the exterior is a solid 8.5-9/10.

I have made sure to stay up on all the maintenance and I have really babied the truck while I have owned it. It is time for an upgrade and my wife would like something a lot newer. I know that it is definitely more than the $8k a dealer would give me, but I don't know it is worth the $17-19k that others are asking for similar trucks on craigslist or autotrader, but I would take it . Any honest thoughts would be greatly appreciated. I know that pictures would help, but it is 5 degrees outside and the truck is dirty. I will post some pics next week when the weather is nicer.

Thanks,

Adam

I bought a 2005 5.4 Lariat crew cab with 84K , 18" rims, nice bed tool box, about 10 months ago for 16K and did not think twice about the price. The truck was in like new condition with no rust anywhere. Could I have paid less, probally, but I had more cash in hand than I had time.

So if you want top dollar, don't bother with craigslist and the like. list it on the upscale vehicle websites.

I can't tell you what your truck is worth....you should start with the various book value web sites and from there ask yourself why is it worth more or less.

You are looking at about $13k, give or take a little. Sometimes local markets can push prices around a lot.

edit: That is 'trade in' value. You should be able to talk up the dealer a little.

KBB is almost always useless with vehicles of a unique nature, such as diesel trucks, or cars with a stellar reputation amd/or demand, like a used Jetta TDI.

Your best bet is to watch Craigslist. I even listed mine to find out what people would offer. Not for sale.
