Buzz test confirmed

I've had a P1316 code for a while now and an intermittent SES when cold. Buzz test when warm revealed nothing. Was searching through old threads yesterday and read that the buzz test should be done cold. So at 24 degrees F I get the following codes:

P1271 High to Low Side Open - Cylinder 1
P1272 High to Low Side Open 2
P1274 High to Low Side Open 4
P1275 High to Low Side Open 5

You can also hear the difference in the 'buzz'. Funny thing is when warm they all sound alike with no issues. I have less than 10000 miles on these remanned injectors. I should have bought new.

The UVCH and glow plugs were new IH units when I did the injectors.

I forgot which thread I read it in or I would give the person credit for it.

Both sides, eh? That sucks. I have that tee-shirt... so I feel your pain, bud. I swapped mine in and got full credit toward new, I just had to deal with the added work and shipping costs - but it was soooo worth the trade-up.

I actually learned this a while ago from Tugly's "Scan Tool Aid" link, along with a lot more good info.
That is good to know about Full Force. My injectors are starting to weaken on cold starts and I'll be shopping soon. I still need to buzz test but haven't gotten a good morning where my first start is after 5am.

This morning cold engine buzz test ok. Let it run for 1 minute, buzz it again and have:

P1274 High to Low Side Open 4

IDK...I'm thinking I might have a wiring problem at this point. Time to break the meter out, wish I had a megger....

Engine harness good. Injectors ohm'd out 3.3, 3.4....No change when harness moved. Interesting side note, I took a quick glance at Tuglys pic of the connector and pin/injector numbering and I originally read 1-7 in order across the bottom. Needless to say number 4 wasn't where I thought it was. A eureka moment spoiled by a trip inside to look at the picture again......

To me this result isn't pointing to wiring as much as possible worn poppets, never hurts that you checked the wiring though.

If your injectors are going to be checked out under warranty I wouldn't worry about going any further, but if they weren't I would want to check the clearances on the armatures, it could be as simple as loose or broken armature screws.

Yet another learning moment....I always cleared the codes on the first screen on AE...When I did that it also cleared the IDM codes so when I checked them there was nothing there....Learn from my mistake.

One more thing. I 'assumed' that my SES light was for the deactivated EBPV all this time. It wasnt. EBPV doesnt trigger the SES(or so i've read). It was these IDM codes all along.

Correct - on my 2003 F-250 the deleted EBPV did not trip the SES light but set a soft code. But on my 2000 Excursion the deleted EBPV did trip the SES light. Both situations were corrected by installing the resistor.
