Superchip tuner installed

I bought a cortez tuner back in 2008. It has logged over 400,000km in 3 different trucks. It ran 100,000 in a 6.4 diesel than 300,000 in a 5.4L F150 and recently 10,000km in my 06 V10. This tuner has depreciated itself nicely. I drive a 6.2 F250 daily as a work truck and am tired of the lethargic feel of this motor below 4000 rpm. So, I pulled the tuner out of my V10, updated it and plugged it into my 6.2. Instant smile! I drove it around town for 2 days on the 87 octane tune. The truck now accelerates much more effortlessly and sounds throatier. Today I filled up with premium, installed the 91 octane performance tune and hit the highway for a 600km trip. The truck dropped one less gear on each hill and passing semis had me hitting 150kmh by the time I pulled back into my lane. I have never seen this tuner offer so much power on a gas motor. The other 2 gas motors I had it in offered a very slight performance increase. It makes the 6.2 a whole new experience! I know the Mikes tuner is the "s..t" on here but if you have a cortez laying around like I did, don't be afraid to use it. Its surprising that ford offers this motor with such a mild tune.

I don't mean to sound stupid here, but you have a tuner that works with diesels and gassers? How so?

The superchip cortez works with ANY ford motor, gas or diesel. All you do when you swap it is update it on their website and its good to go in the next motor. Its a great feature. I definitely got my moneys worth with this unit. You do have to buy the tuner for fords. I would guess they sell one that fits all chevs or dodges or whatever. Another option is that for an extra $100 I can use the tuner in 2 trucks. I am going to do this so I use it in my V10 and my 6.2

Have you noticed gas mileage increases as well or has it just been the extra get up and go?

Mileage has stayed the same. When this truck was brand new and stock I checked the mileage at 16.2 mpg based on Canadian gallons. The truck now has a 3" lift, 35s with 40 psi, headache rack, tool box [full], brush guard with lights, bug and window deflectors and a back seat full of gear. I get 15 mpg like this. My rig is an F250 supercab longbox with 4.30 gears.
