Well, I have had all kinds of setbacks here, mostly family related. But I did get the 'new' flathead installed yesterday and am just in the process of mounting everything on the longblock and buttoning everything up. The actual fire-up target is for Monday. If that goes well, it will leave me with 10 days to work out any bugs before hitting the road.

Very Nice! That Mid Fifty crew is good people. Actually got to see them at the F100 Super Nationals. Was good to put a face to a name.

I have rewired my entire truck, and just need to tie up the loose ends on it this weekend if my work schedule will allow. Otherwise, I need to clean out my fuel system and possibly run a new fuel line, and I'm good to go. I wanted to replace my front springs, but I don't think I'm going to get a chance. We are literally living on the ballfield this spring. I'm excited about getting a break and taking the trip.

I chose to buy the exact replica wiring harness that the guy sells on Ebay. It's SUPPOSED to have modern PVC covered wires with the traditional cotton-overlay look. But when he sent it to me, it was all Dennis Carpenter stuff, for the same price that I would have paid DC. I honestly can't tell if the PVC is under the outer layer or not, and I'm certainly not going to cut a wire needlessly to find out. It has fit very well so far with no issues. I'll be honest, it was just simply follow the directions. No cutting, crimping, thinking, etc. That was worth an extra hundred dollars in my opinion as compared to the universal kits that require the finish work. My mind is really tired right now, and I am exhausted with work, Little League, etc. I just needed something mindless and straightforward.

I'm a smart "woousey", and I just turned 40 a little over a week ago. So, needless to say, I haven't been very happy lately. Plus I have a stock truck. No sense in re-inventing the wheel.

Yep I said to myself. Self I am gonna save up and do all the stuff on my
bucket list when I retire. Let me tell ya, It aint gonna happen. If I had it
to do over I would do all the stuff when young. Than at about 40 work to
pay it all off till I die.

Everybody always thinks that, but 99.9% of us are the worst patients of all. For instance, I've coughed my head off for over a week now. I still haven't broken down and done anything about it. We figure out if it's gonna kill us, and, if the answer is no, we just ignore it. Besides, I can't find any anti-grey hair medication, and I certainly haven't found the anti-ugly pill yet.
