Question Anybody in or near Eugene?

Hey all, I'm very interested in an Aerostar located in Eugene. If possible I'd like to get a first hand assessment (besides the seller's) of its overall mechanical condition. I would prefer somebody who is knowledgeable with these vans and specifically the AWD versions. However, somebody who is experienced with 'automotive' in general and knows what to look for with a 24 year old vehicle would suffice.

The seller has been very cooperative and great to deal with but she nor her husband are mechanically savvy. This Aerostar appears to be well above average but I would rather not 'roll the dice' with this transaction. I would be flying or driving there and driving 21 hours home. This would be through the mountains. A route that can get 'interesting' this time of year.....

I am MORE than willing to compensate for time and effort with this. Thanks for reading the thread!

I wish I was closer to Eugene, I would help, but 3 hours away from there. I have had the Aerostar sense 1992. Great van. Sorry I can't help

Is there something sketchy about Eugene? The van is technically in northern Springfield. I wrote Eugene only cause the majority of people know where that is opposed to Springfield.

I completely understand. 3 hours would be too much for me also. However, somebody like you is exactly who I'm trying to find.

Aerostars are indeed great vans. Many people would disagree but I'm convinced. I was beyond impressed with an '88 I had and that was the shorty version with RWD. I'm now after an extended version AWD. Finding a well kept Aerostar is getting difficult, specifically the first generation ('91 and older). I've been looking for years and noticed the NW states have many good ones still on the road. Hopefully I'll be making a trip to the 'area' soon enough!

Eugene; liberal collage town that would like to control the state

Unofficial Springfield motto:.........."The Right side of the freeway."

Springfield......A outpost of normality, next to the biggest cluster of liberalism and communism outside of Bejing or Washington DC.

Recently i saw a FB post regarding the Unites States "Best Hippie Cities", i kid you not......Eugene ranked number one, and they based this on all sorts of important, vital factors! Readily available and affordable Marijuana being one criteria, but across the blacktop, you have Cabela's in Springfield????
