Educate me on wax

I Want to wax my truck, but I've never waxed anything before. The paint looks good but is slightly oxidized. Is carnauba cleaner wax the right stuff to use? Rather than polishing compound then wax?

School me!

If attempting to revive a finish, it's cut, buff, polish, glaze, then pure wax.

Personally, I avoid "cleaner wax" combos because it still contains some abrasives.

The finish isn't bad. It's just a little dirty. From what I've been reading I think the cleaner wax is what I need. I don't want to put a whole day of rubbing glazing and polishing into a truck I drive through bushes and mud puddles with.

Meguiars #6 cleaner wax , put it on with an orbital polisher let haze up for 30 minutes remove by hand with a clean soft towel /micro fiber .
The #6 has just enough abrasive it in to do a little cutting with out taking to much paint off . been using it since the 80's

For your application, any of the cleaner/wax combo's will do the job.

My Favorite

Though it is not as good as it used to be I like a product called TR3. It has good reviews on Amazon and other sites.

Here's a link to their website http://bluemagicusa.com/index.php/bl...ic/products/91
