Cool Heavy duty tow package transmission cooler too small?

Months ago when I was researching my Expedition before purchasing, I looked up the specifications on the (536) heavy duty tow package and is supposed to have amoung other things an 11 channel Auxillary Auto Transmission Oil cooler over the standard 7 chanel cooler. My 2007 expedition has the heavy duty package, but the auxillary cooler is only a 7 channels, or 7 finned rows. The bracket that hold the radiator cooler looks like it has tabs for a larger cooler then I have.
Before I complain to the dealer, could someone else who has the (536) heavy duty tow package option look at their transmission cooler and count the number of rows? Also, if someone who does not have the heavy duty package could do the same I could see if there truely is a difference in the transmission cooler sizes.

Here's a link to the specifics at the Ford website. Look at the top of page 2.

http://www.fordvehicles.com/assets/p...dition9-18.pdf

The way I look at it, I should have a %55 bigger cooler, which is what I thought I was purchasing to give me a cooler running longer lasting transmission.

I didn't know there was a heavy duty vs. a regular duty tow package.

All I see is the 536 Trailer Tow Package which has the 7 row cooler.

Yes you should complain if that is the case however, if it were me, as I have done with all my trucks I'd ditch the factory cooler in place of a high capacity unit with a electric fan, I purchased one from summit a dual pass unit that cools both my transmission and engine oil. I ran this on my F-150 w/ a deep pan and never saw temps over 190 degrees on the trans (even pulling 10K lbs in the florida heat). I now have this unit on my sliverado and again, have had no heat issues. The unit was much more helpful on the ford where I had a clutch driven cooling fan that wouldn't always move air over the grill when in traffic with a slight tip of the throttle. If you have any questions about hooking it up feel free to ask but spending 270 dollars is much cheaper then a trans at 2K+ dollars.

Per the PDF, non 536 is 7 row, 536 heavy duty is 11 row.
My vehicle sticker has the $350 charge for the "heavy duty trailer tow"

I had a single fluid Derale Cooler like this with Electric fan on my last vehicle and it worked great for the transmission. I first need to know the transmission temperature (other post) to find out if I have a problem.

My 08 has the heavy Duty tow package...and it's a 7 row cooler. My Sticker shows Heavy duty trailer tow...$395.

Looks like a good sized cooler...

I have the heavy duty trailer tow package as well, and the cooler has seven rows.

I did notice however that in addition to having only seven rows, the unit is about 18 inches long.

this is larger than some I've seen similarly that were 8"-12 " wide.

so I'm thinking the width of the unit is making up for an 11 row cooler that is not as wide as this one. also, being a wider/longer design keeps the fluid in the airstream just a bit longer allowing for more disipation of heat.

however, if in fact we should have 11 rows, I'll be next in line to get mine.

I just fired off an E-mail to Ford customer service explaining the problem with the PDF and our SUV's. I forwarded the PDF to them as well.....we will see what happens....

Hopefully we get some really nice big 11 row coolers.

Just spoke to my dealer and they show two different part #'s for the oil coolers and My Service Manager is researching also. The costs of the two coolers is $107.00 and $150.00. I now wished I had written the part # down.
