The guy was asking 1200 if I remember correctly. It was for sale at another location for a while. Once it got there it unfortunately sold pretty quick.
Here is another one. It came in a couple years ago. I might like to have it but again pretty rough.
Most of the stuff Jim has is rough, but he looks at everything as a project. I got all my stuff other than one of my Broncos from him. I bought my 75 and on the way out I noticed the 66. I asked what he wanted for that. He told me I could have it for a little more. I told him I wanted both. I said how about I work for the 66. I have been helping him out since then, and collecting more trucks.
Most times now we are just stripping stuff down. He is trying to clean out the yard somewhat. Sometimes we'll take something off of one and put it on another. Lots of chatting as well. I tried to spend a lot less time there this year. Wasn't getting much of the wife's list done. I don't take any pay so I can scoop whatever parts I need/want within reason. I think he enjoys the company as well.
The trick is to find a wife that likes old trucks too. My girlfriend's been spending the last few months looking for an old C10. Problem is that she's too picky. Surface rust? Nope. Wrong shade of X colour? Nope. Ugly rims? Nope. Towing mirrors? Nope. Yeah she's never going to find a truck.
Should be saved but probably wont. It seems there are less people wanting the project as opposed to something already done. I guess it's cheaper for many to buy already done than to do a project.
Restored bumps only go for like $15,000 at most. It literally is cheaper to buy a finished one. That's the problem. No one really wants them. There's no demand.
Same with the dents and broncos. I think my bronco, $10,000 done. My dent even less. They bumps and dents are nice trucks but just don't have the same following as the Chev/GMC of the same years. I think the prices reflect that.
My dad's Highboy was bought for just over seven. My '73 F100 was... crap, can't even remember... $2,500 I think. My bump was bought for $4,250 but I've probably put 2 in it by now.
