I have temporarily put it on the back of the stove because I need to get a POV up and going that I can cruise with.

The chosen toy is a Suzuki Swift (1993) that had serious issues, but not so bad I can't whoop it together as parts cash comes together. i found out too lat that the young dummy who used to own it had pissed off someone so bad that they sugared the fuel system. When I dropped the tank and opened it up I found so much gross crud inside it that I had to use five or six cans of oven cleaner to remove it all!

Needless to say, the in-tank pump was shot.

I have an external pump AND A FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR from jegs and summit that are total overkill about to go in it - it will mean running a new fuel return line since they were designed for V8 engines, not piddly little bike engines, but it fascinates me.

This thing should achieve 40+ mpg and has an air conditioner!

I could wish that it was a Fiesta, Festiva, or an Escort - but those will come later.

You might think it's a sick notion on my part but I eventually want to find and drag home an EXP to play with...

*NOTE: POV is MILSPEAK for "Personally Owned Vehicle"

Those are good cars. There's quite a following for them, I have a friend that has 4.
Investigate, I know there is an online forum, he talks about it.
Apparently, there is some guy that regrinds the camshafts on them, and it's not unusual to see as much as 55 mpg!!!

Make sure to open and clean everything, even the fuel injectors, I had an ex wife introduce me to the world of sugared gas tank. Not fun, that gums up everything!

Since we last talked, I went ahead and rebuilt the 'Sploder I took in for scrap.
What a great car!!! I'm glad I put it on the road. If you get one, you will like it
Mine's an older one (96) with the in block 4.0. It runs well, and gives me between 19 and 23 MPG depending how it's driven
