I don't want to be a popeye....

I have a '87 F150 4x4 and a buddy called me earlier this week stuck in a mudhole. Well after explaining to him my muddin' days were over he said "it's high and dry" around and I reluctantly agreed to go haul him out. The entry to the trail had an old berm to keep people out that was worn down, but with a bottomless mud hole on the other side. I found the bottom and I think the impact felt maybe broke the upper and inner adjuster on the right side headlight. It broke the plastic part the actually connects to the headlight assembly which looks like was cast around the ball on the adjuster screw itself.

Anyway, does anybody know where to find one? Ford does not have them any longer and the local parts shop says they can get a "universal" one to fit Ford, Lincoln, Fiats and Packards......................

The Body Parts Store - Automotive Parts & Supplies - Des Moines, Iowa | The Body Parts Store, Inc.

Omaha, NE - 402-330-9010

I've had good luck with them recently. I don't know what their policies are on over the phone orders if you don't live nearby, but clearly it doesn't hurt to call and ask.

Ebay adjusters

http://www.ebay.com/itm/NOS-1987-1991-FORD-F150-F350-BRONCO-HEADLIGHT-ADJUSTER-SCREW-/350929630993?_trksid=p2054897.l4275

You can find the whole assembly for $50 used or $100 new.

Thanks for the links, but that picture is not the one I have. I believe that one is longer and does not have the plastic attachment piece for the headlight assembly near the end with the hex adjuster.

I did not realize that pieces like this would be on eBay. Let me look around over there a bit.

Thanks again for the help

I guess I didn't understand if you needed the vertical or horizontal adjustment.

Do look around.
You said that the dealer said it was NLA.
I hope you got the part number from them.

That number will likely show the part available from one of the out of date dealers like 'Green Parts Co.', 'Miller Obsolete Parts' or 'NOS Ford parts Ltd' who keep their inventory online.
Search 'rearcounter.com' too.
