390 pushrods

390 pushrods
I've been able to find a few videos on checking pushrod length, but they seem to be chevy motors where each pushrod had their own rocker. i was wondering if it was safe to assume the process would be the same. Sharpy the valve, insert pushrod, assemble rocker assembly, rotate motor a few times then check to see if the rocker left a mark high, in the middle, or low.
My other problem is that it is a brand new cam and i haven't broke it in yet. and am told that excessive spinning will ruin it. any way around this, like only have one lifter and pushrod in at a time?
any help would be great
